Denton Regional Emergency Services treat more than 40,000 patients each year in the Emergency Care Center, providing advanced critical care to the Denton community. These patients benefit from the high-tech facilities and highly trained medical specialists who staff it 24/7/365 days a year.
Denton Regional Emergency Care Center is staffed at all times with skilled physicians, nurses and technicians who have been specially trained to deal with medical emergencies, including rapid stabilization of heart attacks, trauma, poisoning, severe bleeding and other sudden illnesses in adults and children.
Emergency Care Center physicians are board certified in emergency medicine or family practice with certifications in advanced cardiac life support, pediatric advanced life support and advanced trauma life support. And because major injuries can happen night or day, trauma surgeons are on call at all times.
Denton Regional Chest Pain Center was the first nationally accredited Chest Pain Center in Denton County. The creation of this specialized area within the Emergency Care Center dedicated solely to cardiac care reflects the organization's ongoing commitment to cardiac services. Located only steps away from the cardiac catherization facilities, the Chest Pain Center provides the latest in bedside patient monitoring equipment and includes 24-hour access to cardiac specialists.
CareFlite is based at Denton Regional Medical Center, providing helicopter transportation for patients needing critical care services. Founded in 1979, CareFlite is a fully-integrated ground and air, non-profit medical transport service. They now operate five helicopter bases and have safely moved more than 50,000 patients throughout Texas. CareFlite pilots average 25 years experience and 6,500 hours of flight time, and the highly skilled medical crews are trained in trauma, cardiac, neonatal, obstetrics, pediatrics and burn care.
